About the Role
Catalyst Hotel is seeking a Night Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for guests arriving late or departing early.
This role ensures a smooth check-in/check-out process, assists with reservations, handles guest requests, and supports night audit and security operations.
The successful candidate will be service-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work independently during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome guests and manage all late check-ins and early check-outs professionally.
Complete “End of Day” hotel system procedures and generate required financial reports.
Manage reservations via phone, online platforms, and central reservations.
Verify payment methods and process transactions accurately.
Collect and record guest details (ID, contact information, payment, nationality).
Allocate guest rooms, especially during early morning arrivals.
Handle guest complaints, escalate when necessary, and ensure top service delivery.
Coordinate with housekeeping for room readiness and special requests.
Manage VIP and group bookings, ensuring tailored services.
Promote and upsell hotel services and amenities.
Assist with night audit duties and reporting.
Summarize guest feedback for management’s morning briefing.
Arrange guest transport and logistics as needed.
Work alongside security to maintain safety and order overnight.
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12.
Fluent in English (written & spoken); additional languages are advantageous.
Neat, professional appearance with strong interpersonal skills.
Good mathematical, administrative, and organizational abilities.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and hotel systems (preferably OPERA).
Calm, decisive, and able to problem-solve under pressure.
Customer-focused, proactive, and solution-driven.
Comfortable working independently on night shifts.
