About:
The City of Tshwane is offering permanent Operator positions within the Transport Services division.
In this role, you will support road building and maintenance teams by operating machinery, assisting artisans, and helping maintain storm water systems. This is a physically active role that involves working in shifts and outdoor environments.
Requirements:
• Grade 10 qualification
• Experience in road and storm water maintenance operations
• Ability to operate heavy-duty road construction machinery (especially a grader)
• Valid Code C1 driving licence with a valid PrDP
• Physically fit and in good health
• Willing and able to work shifts
Added advantage:
• Leadership qualities and ability to supervise at a basic level
• Good communication and teamwork skills
Key Duties:
• Support teams with road construction and maintenance work
• Assist artisans such as road builders or masons with daily tasks
• Provide first-level supervision when required
• Operate small equipment and municipal vehicles
• Drive and handle machinery used in road and storm water maintenance
