Job Purpose

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Market Operations and Analysis Division within the Financial Markets Department (FMD). The role involves managing office operations, supporting senior managers, and ensuring effective communication and coordination within the department.


Key Responsibilities

Oversee the office of the Divisional Head and management team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Manage and update senior managers’ diaries, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.

Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documentation according to SARB standards.

Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Maintain accurate contact databases and filing systems in line with SARB’s document management policies.

Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Provide general administrative support and respond to ad hoc requests as required.


Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

A Higher Certificate in Personal Assistant & Office Administration (NQF Level 5) or equivalent.

2–5 years of relevant secretarial or administrative experience.

Additional Requirements:

Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written).

Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Ability to work independently and occasionally outside normal working hours.

Excellent telephone etiquette and typing skills.

Knowledge of administrative procedures and event coordination.
