Salary: R371,208 – R509,256 per annum (basic, plus benefits).


Minimum Requirements

Grade 12, Secretarial Diploma, or equivalent qualification.

Computer literacy (MS Office).

Strong knowledge of Local Government processes, admin procedures, document management, meeting protocols, and office governance.

Advanced skills in report formatting and document preparation.

Ability to multitask under pressure.

Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, self-management, and time management skills.

At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.


Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and liaise between Council offices, departments, and structures on service delivery matters.

Deliver high-quality administrative support as agreed with management.

Resolve queries promptly, escalate unresolved issues where needed.

Organize and plan own workload effectively.

Handle enquiries and complaints for the Head of Department, gather information, and provide feedback.

Arrange and coordinate meetings, workshops, catering, venues, documentation, and audio-visual support.

Manage the daily operations of the Head of Department’s office to ensure efficient systems and processes.

Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence in line with registry procedures and file plans.

Draft and generate documents, spreadsheets, emails, and other correspondence.

Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.

Assess own performance and seek feedback on outputs.

Perform additional secretarial, clerical, or administrative tasks as required by management.

Foster a culture of professionalism, ethical conduct, and excellent customer service.
