KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain stock levels
– Maintain stock levels per warehouse.
– Plan stock deployment to branches to ensure 98% OFR to trade.
– Maintain optimum stock levels according to target days.
– Monitor stock age daily and take action to prevent obsolete stock.
– Investigate and report on obsolete stock.
Plan deployment and loads
– Create a deployment forward plan.
– Create a monthly forward plan for the warehouse.
– Communicate plans to primary transport and the warehouse.
– Communicate and monitor deviations from the plan and take action.
– Distribute loads evenly to assist primary distribution.
– Create daily loads and monitor activities.
– Identify and prioritise urgent stock and ensure it is on load.
– Ensure a fair share in cases of shortages.
– Plan loads and link different delivery and loading points.
– Request Primary Transport and ensure a TR number is received per load.
– Ensure planned loads are correctly actioned as actual in Tower.
Monitor warehouse space and forward planning
– Monitor available warehouse space and adjust the plan accordingly.
– Conduct daily space checks on each branch for incoming and outgoing stock.
– Coordinate space constraints with Principals/Planners.
Report on deployment activities
– Report daily on warehouse utilisation.
– Report weekly on Primary, pallet and weight utilisation.
– Report on picking freshness per CDC daily and month to date, with action taken weekly.
– Report on stock levels within parameters, with action taken weekly.
– Report and analyse daily short supply and coordinate with the warehouse and SCP Planners.
– Report daily to the warehouse on OFR, warehouse utilisation, top 20 short supplies, picking freshness and SDS risk stock.
– Report on double handling.
– Compile weekly and monthly reports on all Deployment activities.
Review and correct planning parameters
– Review and correct Multiple Order Quantities at item-route level monthly and bi-weekly.
– Review and correct Min and Max stock level parameters.
– Review and correct the Distribution Calendar.
