Role Overview
The Receptionist / Switchboard Operator will manage the front desk at the Santam Meeting Centre. The role includes welcoming visitors, managing calls, handling meeting room bookings, and ensuring all front-of-house operations meet CBRE Excellerate and Santam service standards.
Qualifications
Matric / Grade 12 (required)
2–3 years’ experience in reception, front desk, or switchboard operations
Experience in a corporate or client-focused environment, ideally in facilities management
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and booking systems
Excellent communication and phone etiquette

Main Responsibilities
Front Desk Management
Act as the primary contact for visitors, clients, and employees
Deliver a warm, professional welcome in line with Santam standards
Manage visitor access, registration, and security procedures
Keep the reception area tidy and organised
Switchboard Operations
Answer and direct incoming calls accurately
Handle and relay messages efficiently
Assist with general queries from staff, visitors, and internal teams
Meeting Room Coordination
Manage room bookings, schedules, and setups
Work with cleaning, catering, and IT teams to prepare rooms
Monitor usage and report issues to Facilities
Client Service & Relationship Management
Build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders
Ensure exceptional service delivery
Escalate client queries when necessary
Administrative Support
Assist with admin tasks including printing, scanning, filing, and courier management
Support Facilities Management with reports and documentation
Manage office supplies and stationery
Health, Safety & Security
Comply with all safety and emergency procedures
Report hazards, incidents, or facility concerns
Support emergency processes, including evacuations and visitor tracking
