Role Purpose

The main goal of this position is to motivate people to live healthier, more active lifestyles while meeting both personal and club sales targets. This is achieved by marketing and positioning Virgin Active as the top choice in the fitness industry.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan your daily and monthly schedule ahead of time to generate leads, secure appointments, and deliver sales presentations aimed at meeting and exceeding set targets.

Capture all activities accurately using Virgin Active’s systems and follow the required timelines and procedures.

Follow Virgin Active’s sales processes consistently.

Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Virgin Active South Africa (VASA) products and understand how they compare to competitors.

Grow the customer base and improve client loyalty through service calls, referrals, networking, and relationship building.

Understand the unique needs and interests of potential clients, build rapport, and match their requirements with the right products.

Close sales by addressing customer objections, with guidance from the Sales Manager or Regional Sales Coach when needed.

Report to the Sales Manager regarding performance reviews, objectives, and planned activities.

Analyse sales data and trends to plan ahead and support brand growth.

Participate actively in sales meetings by sharing insights, best practices, and recommendations for lead generation and sales growth.

Promote the Virgin Active brand through localised marketing activities, such as attending or organising events, promotions, health days, and corporate/community engagements.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Matric (Grade 12).

A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Sales or Marketing.

At least 2 years’ experience in the sales environment.

Strong promotional and sales ability with a proven track record.

Ability to plan daily tasks to maximise results.

Strong rapport-building skills and ability to identify new business opportunities.

Excellent telephone, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

Confidence, professionalism, and awareness of industry trends.

Customer-focused mindset.

Ability to analyse market data and use insights effectively.

Financial understanding, including sales budgets and sales ratio calculations.

Solid understanding of company processes and systems.

Strong client relationship-building skills across various customer groups.
