The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) is accepting applications for the 2026 Military Skills Development (MSD) Programme. This two-year voluntary service opportunity offers young citizens a chance to gain military training, develop leadership qualities, and build practical skills in a professional environment.
The programme is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
Citizenship and Residency
Must be a South African citizen
Dual citizenship is not permitted
Age Requirements
18 to 22 years old for applicants with Grade 12
18 to 26 years old for applicants with a tertiary qualification (N6 Diploma, 3-Year Diploma, or Degree)
Education Requirements
Senior Certificate (Matric)
Admission Point Score (APS) of 18 or higher (excluding Life Orientation)
Mathematics and Physical Science required for technical mustering (e.g., Aviation Engineering)
