SAPS Administration Clerk Vacancies 2026 Now Require No Experience

Updated following the DPSA Circular 23 of 2026 Amendment Notice.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has officially amended several Administration Clerk vacancies that were originally advertised in Public Service Vacancy Circular 23 of 2026. The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) has confirmed that no previous  work experience is now required for the affected Administration Clerk posts. The application deadline has also been extended to 31 July 2026.

The amendments affect 40 Administration Clerk vacancies across the SAPS Human Resource Development Division and the SAPS Mpumalanga Provincial Administration. These permanent  government positions offer a salary of R237 453 per annum (Salary Level 05) and are open to applicants with a Grade 12 (Senior Certificate/NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification).

About the Opportunity


Administration Clerks play an important support role within the South African Police Service by providing administrative assistance to various divisions, training academies, operational units and provincial offices.Police training materials

Successful candidates will assist with office administration, filing, correspondence, learner administration, record management, data capturing, meeting coordination and other clerical duties that contribute to the efficient running of SAPS offices.

Requirements:

Applicants must:

Be a South African citizen.
Be in possession of a Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
Be proficient in English and at least one other official language.
Be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Possess sound planning, organisational and administrative skills.
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability and credibility.
Be willing to work under pressure and extended hours where required.


Duties

Depending on the post, successful candidates may be responsible for:

Performing general office administration.
Maintaining filing systems and official records.
Receiving and distributing correspondence.
Capturing information on electronic systems.
Coordinating meetings and preparing documentation.
Taking minutes during meetings.
Maintaining registers and databases.
Providing administrative support to operational and training units.
Preparing reports and statistical information.
Assisting with learner and personnel administration.
