Job Purpose
The purpose of the P27 Shop Assistant/Cashier role is to deliver an outstanding customer shopping experience through effective stock replenishment, merchandising, housekeeping, and efficient transaction processing at till points.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills (fluent in English; additional languages advantageous)
Energetic, proactive, and target-driven
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail and product knowledge
Previous retail experience will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
Provide friendly, efficient assistance to shoppers
Help customers locate products and answer queries
Handle customer complaints professionally
2. Cashier Duties
Process cash, card, and Lay-by transactions
Handle customer refunds and balance tills accurately
Report discrepancies or problems to supervisors
3. Merchandising
Ensure stock is correctly priced, tagged, and displayed
Maintain product availability on the sales floor
Assist with promotional displays and general store housekeeping
4. Risk & Security
Ensure all products are securely tagged per company policy
Participate in stock takes and loss prevention activities
Report suspicious behaviour or security concerns to management
5. Company Values
Uphold and demonstrate Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures in all tasks
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Good communication skills
Willingness to work in a high-energy, fast-paced retail environment
Previous retail experience (advantageous)
