South Deep Gold Mine is offering aspiring Employees and or prospective Applicants from within our Host Communities interested in pursuing a career in Engineering, the opportunity to enter into a formal Engineering Learnership programme.
Requirements:
● Grade 12 with Maths and Science
Be in possession of a full N3 qualifications with 4 subjects i.e., Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Electrical Trade theory and Industrial Electronics
● Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Undergoing technical training as prescribed by MQA and short courses as required by the mine during the Learnership Maintain consistent performance
● Initiating developmental discussions
Seeking feedback
● Adhering to the company`s conditions of employment, policies and code of conduct
● Abide by all health and safety rules / regulations applicable on the mine.
● Promoting of teamwork and being an effective team member.
● Wearing all the prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) while on mine/ at the training centre
● Abide by the values of South Deep Gold
Mine i.e. safety, integrity, respect, responsibility, innovation, and collaborative delivery
