Looking for workplace experience after completing your studies? Transnet Freight Rail is offering 12 to 18-month internship opportunities across several fields, giving unemployed graduates practical exposure in one of South Africa’s largest transport and logistics organisations.
These opportunities are open to South African graduates aged 18 to 35 who have completed their theoretical studies and have no prior work experience in their field. Applications close between 12 June and 15 June 2026 depending on the internship.
Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is recruiting interns in multiple disciplines across South Africa.
The internship programme combines structured workplace learning, mentorship, and practical industry exposure to help graduates gain valuable experience and improve their employability.
The programme is aimed at graduates from TVET Colleges and Higher Education Institutions who have completed all theoretical training and do not have bursary obligations.
Successful candidates will be placed in various depots, departments, and operational locations within Transnet Freight Rail.
The internship duration ranges from 12 to 18 months.
Requirements
