Job Summary
This role involves following instructions and completing daily maintenance tasks related to instrumentation on buildings, properties, recreational areas, and residential facilities. You will help prepare tools, equipment, and materials, and may delegate tasks to assistants as required. At times, you’ll work independently and take responsibility for assigned duties at any Rand Water site. All work must follow Rand Water’s safety and quality standards, under the guidance of the Assistant Instrument Foreman/Foreman.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or N3 in Instrumentation
Instrumentation Level 2
Safety training (advantageous)
Code EB driver’s license
At least 2 years’ experience in instrumentation
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily instrumentation tasks independently.
Carry out daily, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules.
Investigate and fix breakdowns and work overtime when needed.
Manage your allocated plant or site section.
Maintain high work standards and comply with safety and legal requirements.
Assist with plant improvements and modifications.
Take responsibility for instrumentation repairs, installations, and decision-making for site reliability.
Plan tasks to ensure tools, materials, assistants, equipment, and transport are available.
Inspect equipment after maintenance.
Complete paperwork, schedules, defect sheets, and instructions.
Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
