Position Overview:
Air Products South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Fleet/Workshop Assistant to join the Packaged Gases division at their Kempton Park branch.
The role involves ensuring the company’s fleet complies with all legal requirements related to transporting dangerous goods and maintaining all vehicles in a roadworthy condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular physical inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure safety and performance.
Manage licensing, COF (Certificate of Fitness), and fire permit processes.
Ensure proper placement of hazardous goods placards on vehicles in line with regulations.
Keep the workshop neat and well-organized.
Accurately maintain service and maintenance records for all vehicles.
Follow safety and quality protocols to maintain high operational standards.
Provide professional customer service during all tasks.
Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
Valid Code EC driver’s licence with PrDP (Professional Driving Permit – Dangerous Goods).
Dangerous Goods Certificate is a must.
At least 3–5 years’ experience in operating heavy-duty vehicles and transporting dangerous goods.
Basic mechanical knowledge is essential.
Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
