Overview

Mercedes-Benz Bryanston is looking for a Service Advisor to join their team, reporting to the Service Manager. The ideal candidate must consistently deliver excellent customer service and maintain high service standards.


Key Responsibilities

Service Coordination

Manage workflow between service advisors, the foreman, and customers.

Provide timely updates to customers regarding service bookings and vehicle progress.

Collaborate effectively with all service department stakeholders.

Daily Operations

Ensure the workshop opens and closes on time.

Secure all vehicles by ensuring they are locked and keys are stored in the key safe.

Ensure vehicles are parked outside each morning and keys secured.

Technical & Workshop Support

Ensure job cards are compliant and signed according to Mercedes-Benz South Africa requirements.

Assist technicians promptly with quotations.

Support the Controller, Foreman, Service Manager, and Service Receptionist.

Follow up on parts ordered for the workshop, ensuring a 5-day turnaround as per MBSA standards.

Test-drive vehicles with a Foreman or Quality Controller when required and ensure all vehicles are test-driven before handover.


Customer Service Responsibilities

Maintain customer service levels in line with company standards.

Ensure accurate diagnosis based on customer descriptions.

Prepare cost estimates and final invoices before collection.

Provide continuous progress updates and communicate any delays.

Follow up on customer enquiries and resolve complaints where necessary.


Administrative Duties

Plan daily tasks effectively.

Pre-write job cards.

Record non-warranty claims accurately.

Manage WIP (Work in Progress).

Monitor outstanding payments and ensure proper cash control.


Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12.

Computer literate (Kerridge experience beneficial).

2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Mercedes-Benz Service Advisor certification is an advantage.

Knowledge of the motor industry is preferred.
