Afrimat CM Western Cape, based at De Kop Quarry, has an opportunity available for a Water Truck Driver. The position is suited to candidates who have the required driving licence, are medically fit for mine-site work and can operate responsibly in a busy quarry environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the Water Truck, completing daily machine checks, reporting basic mechanical problems and following all safety and operational instructions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12
- Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence
- Valid PDP is advantageous
- Ability to read and work with basic numbers
- Basic knowledge of machinery
- Medical fitness in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act and company standards
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Good hearing and vision suitable for construction and quarry environments
- Ability to distinguish backup alarms, voices and other normal workplace sounds
- Good management and teamwork skills
- Self-discipline and reliability
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Driving the Water Truck and performing related duties
- Reporting basic mechanical problems
- Maintaining a strong safety focus at all times
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Completing daily pre-start checklists correctly
- Keeping the machine clean, safe and in good working condition
- Following instructions from supervisors and management
- Performing additional duties allocated by management when required
- Working under pressure when necessary
- Working extended hours, including overtime and Saturdays when required
