Role Overview
DP World is seeking a Semi-Skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and service medium to heavy-duty vehicles in line with OEM and Fast ‘n Fresh standards. The role focuses on ensuring vehicle reliability, availability, and quick turnaround times while adhering to safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine servicing and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Diagnose vehicle faults, identify defects, and carry out necessary repairs.
Conduct maintenance and repairs in accordance with approved standard operating procedures.
Carry out quality inspections on completed work to ensure required standards are met.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide standby support when required.
Minimise vehicle downtime by completing maintenance efficiently.
Complete job cards, work orders, requisitions, and all required documentation accurately.
Ensure full compliance with SHEQ policies and company standards at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification.
Relevant technical qualification in diesel mechanics or a related field.
Valid Code 8 driver’s licence (Code 14 with PRDP will be an advantage).
1–2 years’ experience as a semi-skilled artisan in the diesel mechanic field.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, and overtime when required.
Remuneration
Salary aligned with the NBC Minimum Wage.
