About the Role
Jet, part of The Foschini Group (TFG), is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Buyer to support the buying team in managing the full buying process — from order placement to supplier coordination — while ensuring product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support across all stages of the buying process.
Place orders promptly on the purchasing system and maintain order tracking.
Manage the sample room and ensure quality assurance for all samples.
Compile and update spreadsheets, reports, and audit documents.
Prepare documentation for presentations and product loading into the TFG system.
Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to gather product information and manage order changes.
Support the Customer Service team with product and pricing queries or complaints.
Monitor orders through the critical path process and track incoming stock.
Coordinate QA samples, SWOT prep, and assist in weekly sales or product meetings.
Conduct competitive (comp) shopping and help Buyers with order placements.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric, Higher Certificate, or Diploma required.
Previous Buying Administration experience.
Knowledge of the clothing retail cycle and buying process.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email systems.
