Role Overview
As an Assistant Store Manager, your role is to support the Store Manager in overseeing store operations, delivering top-tier service, and driving sales.
Your goal will be to help the store meet its financial and compliance targets while promoting brand growth.
Key Responsibilities
Maximize sales and profitability through promotions, cross-selling, upselling, and exceptional customer service.
Oversee day-to-day store operations such as expense control, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and admin tasks.
Maintain high visual merchandising standards aligned with the brand’s image.
Motivate and guide staff toward meeting performance goals, and take charge when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Manage staff schedules in line with company labor policies to ensure proper coverage.
Drive customer service excellence to boost loyalty and achieve ClubCard goals.
Handle administrative duties including staff attendance and record submissions to HR.
Uphold company values to position Clicks as a top choice in the health and beauty retail sector.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Required: Grade 12 with at least 50% in Maths and English.
Required for external applicants: Relevant diploma in Retail/Business Management.
Preferred: Degree in Retail/Business Management.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year in an assistant store management role in retail/FMCG, or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
Experience with financial processes including budgeting and reviewing profit & loss statements.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of financial principles and retail operations.
Knowledge of merchandising, promotions, stock and risk management.
Solid grasp of customer service, labor laws, and people management.
Effective interviewing, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication, numeracy, and computer literacy.
Goal-driven with a strong customer orientation.
