Overview

Seriti’s Child of Employee Scholarship aims to support the children of Khutala Colliery’s permanent employees by funding their tertiary studies. The scholarship is available for recognised qualifications offered by accredited South African universities or universities of technology.

When applying, candidates must upload a PDF CV along with certified copies (not older than 3 months) of all required documents, including qualifications, ID, academic results, proof of residence, and parent/guardian details.


Who Can Apply?

Current Grade 12 learners with provisional acceptance for 2026 at a registered Higher Education and Training Institution.

Current university students studying towards any Degree or Diploma at an accredited institution (any year of study).

Only NQF Level 6 and above accredited programmes will be considered.

Selection is based on:

Academic performance

Most recent results

Financial need

Bridging or foundation programmes are not eligible.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must submit:

Proof of South African citizenship

Certified copy of latest Grade 12 report or academic record

A brief CV

Provisional acceptance letter or proof of 2026 registration from an accredited university/university of technology

Proof of residence (municipal bill or letter from councillor/chief)

Parent’s employee details (full name, surname, and company number)


What the Scholarship Covers

Tuition fees for 2026 (excluding failed/previous outstanding modules)

Accommodation and meal allowance

Pocket money

Book allowance

One-time laptop allowance


Important Conditions

Final scholarship approval depends on confirmed 2026 registration.

Students must pass all subjects; failed modules will not be funded.

Seriti does not guarantee internship or vacation work opportunities.

No work-back obligation after graduation.

Students in foundation or bridging programmes cannot apply.

Preference will be given to applicants from the local community.

Applicants receiving other sponsorships are not eligible.
