Role Purpose
The Cleaning Supervisor will oversee daily operations, ensuring that high service standards are maintained, staff perform their duties correctly, and all safety, quality, and company policies are followed.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service Delivery
Ensure schedules/job cards are prepared and site-appropriate.
Maintain consistent service quality through inspections.
Ensure staff are professionally dressed and presentable.
Enforce company cleaning procedures and compliance with policies and legislation.
Manage company assets, checking equipment monthly and ensuring maintenance when needed.
Conduct daily site checks and follow-ups.
Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance.
Communication
Respond quickly to management requests and take necessary actions.
Keep line managers informed of important issues.
Health & Safety
Ensure all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements are met according to company and site policies.
General
Promote staff morale and motivation through effective communication.
Assist with additional duties outside the main scope when required.
Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of cleaning principles, company policies, and procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and for long/irregular hours.
Leadership and people management skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric / Grade 12 (minimum).
At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
Experience in commercial or hospitality environments is an advantage.
Knowledge of safety standards and management.
