Job Purpose:
The driver is responsible for timely deliveries and collections of products, vehicle upkeep (cleaning, inspections, and maintenance), and assisting with general tasks when required.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent NQF Level 4 (SAQA accredited)
Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP for Dangerous Goods (mandatory)
Basic computer skills
Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans
Prior experience in transporting LPG or fuel is a strong advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Safely deliver and collect goods on time
Plan routes based on delivery details and maintain a strict schedule
Report accidents, delays, or issues immediately
Load and offload cargo from vehicles
Perform routine checks (fluids, tire pressure, etc.) using a provided checklist
Notify management about required vehicle repairs or services
Follow all traffic and safety regulations
Keep vehicle clean and in roadworthy condition
Collect customer payments when necessary
Complete pre- and post-trip inspections
Accurately fill in all trip-related paperwork, including delivery and collection notes
Ensure safe handling of delicate and hazardous materials
Communicate clearly with management about delays, ETAs, and incidents
Maintain proper communication with clients at delivery sites
Ensure all job paperwork is fully completed and signed, especially in cases involving damages
Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management
