Position Overview: Driver

The Driver is responsible for transporting goods, staff, or company vehicles safely and efficiently, while complying with all company policies and road safety laws. The role supports business operations by ensuring prompt and accurate deliveries and collections. Responsibilities include vehicle upkeep, conducting daily inspections, and reporting any issues. Compliance with policies like the Integrity & Anti-Bribery Code and safety regulations (S.H.E.) is essential. The role demands a high level of professionalism, accountability, and a strong commitment to safety.


Key Responsibilities

Deliveries and Collections

Collect and deliver documents or payments promptly and hand them over to relevant staff.

Notify management if any task cannot be completed.

Coordinate with colleagues before starting assignments for optimal efficiency.

Use safe and effective routes.

Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition; report maintenance needs.

Complete all paperwork correctly.

Record all trips using a logbook or schedule.

Customer Service

Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.

Ensure vehicles are always presentable.

Handle customer questions or complaints professionally and escalate them when needed.

Report any road-related incidents or concerns to management.

Risk and Policy Compliance

Follow proper procedures for handling cash and cheques.

Securely document all collected payments.

Maintain a clean driving record, free of accidents or violations.

Understand and follow all vehicle, driver, and safety policies.


Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

Valid Code 14 driver’s license.

Minimum 2 years’ driving experience.
