Position Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Driver provides safe, reliable, and efficient driving services to the UN Women Country Representative, UN officials, visitors, and other staff. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent knowledge of local routes, protocol, and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Reliable and Secure Driving Services

Transport the Country Representative, officials, visitors, and staff as needed.

Deliver and collect official documents, mail, and parcels.

Meet and assist personnel at the airport, including handling customs formalities.

Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts and adhere to safety protocols.

Take immediate action following any accidents in line with UN regulations.

Ensure all vehicles comply with UN Women’s security and safety standards.

2. Proper Use of Vehicle

Drive responsibly to minimize costs and ensure vehicle longevity.

Maintain detailed logs for mileage, fuel, servicing, and repairs.

Track and manage maintenance schedules and reports.

3. Vehicle Maintenance

Keep vehicles clean and in optimal working condition.

Conduct routine checks on oil, tires, lights, brakes, and other systems.

Arrange repairs and ensure timely resolution of warning indicators.

Prepare vehicles for seasonal or regional travel requirements.

4. Documentation and Supplies

Maintain vehicle documents, insurance, first-aid kits, maps, and spare parts.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.

5. Administrative and Logistic Support

Assist office staff with filing, photocopying, and mail distribution.

Support with deliveries, bill payments, and other administrative tasks.

6. Additional Duties

Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support office operations.


Required Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Completion of secondary school education.

Valid driver’s license required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably with the UN system, embassies, or international organizations.

Proven record of safe and reliable driving.

Language:

Fluency in English required.
