Field Worker: Learn to Swim (Ref: XREAL025)

Type: Temporary (6 consecutive months)


Stipend: R3,621.00 per month

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 10 (or equivalent)

Must be a South African citizen and resident of Ekurhuleni (state ward number)

Currently unemployed

Basic First Aid knowledge

Not participating in another CoE Job Creation programme

Physically fit and able to perform basic water rescues

Willing to attend swimming assessments at CoE pools

Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and during school terms

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily swimming lessons under the Learn to Swim programme, ensuring alignment with municipal safety standards.

Teach basic swimming skills and water safety awareness.

Keep accurate learner attendance and progress records.

Check and maintain pool safety equipment and teaching materials.

Ensure compliance with health and safety policies in aquatic facilities.

Assist in promoting the programme across the municipality.

Report any incidents, risks, or equipment issues to the Aquatic Coordinator.

Provide lesson progress updates to programme coordinators.

Support with general administration related to the programme.

Important Information:

Candidates involved in other job creation projects may only apply after a six-month cooling-off period.
