Job Summary
Rand Water is seeking a Gardener to maintain and develop the landscaping and environmental areas across its facilities. The role involves using various horticultural tools, machines, and equipment to ensure a clean, attractive, and safe environment in line with environmental management standards.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
At least 6 months’ experience in a similar environment.
Ability to operate horticultural machinery such as brush cutters, lawnmowers, and knapsack sprayers.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and clean landscapes and surrounding facilities.
Perform watering, planting, sweeping, and general site maintenance.
Apply fertilizers, mulch, and compost as needed.
Load and offload materials, equipment, plants, and debris.
Assist with decorative setups when required.
Cut and maintain grass within Bulk Water Distribution reservoir sites and servitudes.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge:
Use of hand tools, lawnmowers, and brush cutters.
Basic plant care and horticultural knowledge.
Basic understanding of safety procedures.
Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication.
Basic horticultural and landscaping skills.
Awareness and practice of safety standards.
Attributes:
