Requirements
ABET Certificate (a higher qualification is an added advantage)
Preference for applicants with experience in a similar working environment
Basic knowledge of using gardening tools and equipment
Understanding of general work duties such as lawn care and upkeep
Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures to ensure the safe, effective functioning of government water infrastructure and facilities
Duties
Perform general maintenance tasks, including gardening, weed control, painting, firebreak maintenance, and applying herbicides
Conduct regular inspections of departmental infrastructure
Assist with maintenance of water-related facilities such as canals, pipelines, dams, servitudes, buildings, and surrounding areas
Report defects, faults, and safety risks to supervisors promptly
Load and unload tools and equipment
Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all safety standards
Assist with other general duties as needed
