The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for a General Worker opportunity under the EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme).
The position is based within the Real Estate and Development Planning department and offers an opportunity for eligible Ekurhuleni residents who meet the minimum requirements to gain work experience while supporting municipal service delivery.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10
- Be a South African citizen
- Be a resident of the City of Ekurhuleni
- Have knowledge of municipal services
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidates may be required to:
- Receive daily work instructions from the designated supervisor.
- Conduct business visits to encourage applications for Business Licences and Trading Permits, where applicable.
- Maintain and submit accurate daily records of businesses visited and work performed.
- Capture and update business owner and business contact information.
- Report suspected non-compliant business activities and operational challenges to the relevant supervisor.
- Load, offload and transport materials, tools and equipment safely.
- Perform general labour-intensive duties at municipal offices, workshops, yards and field sites.
- Keep tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety requirements and safe working procedures.
- Provide general assistance in support of municipal service delivery operations.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by an authorised supervisor.
