About the Role
Nexio is looking for a qualified Health and Safety Officer to ensure a secure and healthy work environment. This role includes implementing and managing health and safety policies, coordinating systems and procedures, and ensuring legal compliance.
You’ll also be responsible for creating and maintaining safety files and supporting ISO system management.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure workplace safety and compliance with health regulations.
Develop, implement, and review HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures and policies.
Compile, manage, and close out health and safety files for projects and client Gate 2 submissions.
Conduct site audits, inspections, and workplace assessments.
Manage legal safety appointments and report on inspections.
Support ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 implementation and upkeep.
Conduct safety inductions and training sessions.
Maintain training records and monitor audit follow-ups.
Provide assistance with general facility management.
Requirements
Education & Certification
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH International Diploma preferred)
Registered with SACPCMP as a CHSO
Certified in ISO 45001, 14001, 9001
SETA-accredited Facilitator/Assessor
Qualified Incident Investigator, Risk Assessor, and Fall Protection Planner
Experience
Background in compiling HSE files (Gate 1 & 2)
Familiar with digital HSE tools like Safety360
Facility management experience is an advantage
