Overview
This role involves packing finished explosive products in an organised and safe manner. The Packhouse Assistant must ensure that all boxes are correctly weighed, labelled, and contain the required information.
Qualifications
Matric / Grade 12
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in assembling and packaging explosive accessories on an assembly line
Minimum 1 year experience applying occupational health and safety standards in an explosives environment
Duties
Pack finished products into boxes in the required quantities
Weigh and label boxes accurately
Ensure boxes containing completed units are packed safely and securely
Maintain high housekeeping standards
Follow all health and safety requirements as per the OHS Act and Explosives Act
Meet daily production targets
Ensure raw materials and components are always available
Prepare boxes by gluing, folding, and sealing the bottoms
Pack the correct number of explosive units per box
Insert correct labels into each completed box according to specifications
Close, pack, palletise, and shrink-wrap boxes
Ensure proper documentation is attached when transferring finished goods to the Magazine
