The Botswana Police Service is inviting applications from suitable Botswana citizens for Police Recruit / Police Constable positions at various police establishments across the country.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be Botswana citizens
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have no criminal record
- Be of good character
- Have a BMI between 18 and 25
- Not be pregnant at the time of recruitment or during training
- Have no visible tattoos
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have BGCSE or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 30 points, based on the best six subjects, including C or better in English.
A Diploma, Degree or Master’s qualification in fields such as the following will be an added advantage:
- Law
- Psychology
- Health Science
- Cyber
- Aviation
- Languages
- Social Sciences
- Arts
- Business
- Information Technology
SALARY
The advertised salary scales are:
- B.1: P85,500 – P102,120 per annum — Entry
- C.4: P102,312 – P117,528 per annum — During probation
- C.3: P121,920 – P145,704 per annum — After confirmation
Employees are also eligible for 20 working days’ leave per annum.
BENEFITS
The adveprtised benefits include:
- Contributory medical aid, with Government paying 50% and the employee 50%
- Contributory pension scheme for permanent and pensionable staff
- Government pension contribution of 15% and employee contribution of 5%
- Overtime allowance at 20% of basic salary
- Free housing or a housing allowance of 15% of basic salary in lieu of housing
- Electricity and water subsidy
SELECTION PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a selection process that includes:
- Comprehensive medical examination
- Physical fitness assessment
- Criminal vetting
- Security vetting
- Aptitude tests
- Written and oral interviews
Successful candidates will be required to undergo 12 months of police training.
