Transnet Port Terminals is recruiting Port Workers for non-permanent employment at its Port Elizabeth operations.
The role focuses on providing labour support across terminal operations to ensure safe working conditions, efficient cargo movement, and clean operational areas.
Successful candidates will assist with cargo-related activities, equipment cleaning, rail wagon operations, documentation, and general operational support within the terminal environment.
Requirements:
• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
• Minimum of 1 year working experience
• Knowledge of terminal layouts
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and operational standards•
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment
• Willing to work as part of a team

Responsibilities:
• Clean operational equipment and facilities
• Clean crane cabins and crane windows
• Inspect container conditions
• Monitor reefer container operations
• Open and close rail wagon twist-locks
• Load, off-load and stack cargo
• Hook and unhook cargo equipment
• Tarp and untarp cargo where required
• Place and remove dunnage
• Clean rail trucks, workshops, sheds and offices
• Complete accident reports and related documentation
