Role Overview

First Digital is looking for a skilled Pre-Sales Consultant to support its fast-growing sales activities across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. Although the position is based in South Africa, the ideal candidate must have solid experience selling technology solutions into the UK market. This makes the role especially suitable for UK expats or professionals familiar with UK business environments, customer expectations, and engagement styles.

You will serve as the dedicated pre-sales expert for First Digital—designing technical solutions, supporting proposals, assisting with pricing, delivering product demos, and guiding UK and European clients through the discovery and decision-making process.

This position works closely with UK sales teams as well as South African delivery teams who provide technical development, engineering, and client support. Your role is to connect business needs with technical delivery, enabling scalable solutions and supporting the company’s expansion in the UK. This is a commission-based role, with earnings linked to deals you support through pre-sales.

All technical execution is handled by South African delivery specialists—your responsibility is to align business requirements, solution design, and sales execution for UK and European customers.


Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales Solutions & Technical Advisory

Partner with sales teams to define solution strategies for Microsoft development, AI, analytics, and Power Platform projects.

Convert customer requirements into high-level and detailed technical proposals.

Assist with cost estimates, solution scoping, and Statements of Work (SoWs).

Contribute to RFP/RFI responses and present proposed solutions.

2. Product Demos & Client Engagement

Deliver impactful demonstrations across Microsoft technologies (Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, AI, Modern App Development).

Present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Attend in-person meetings with clients across the UK and occasionally Europe.

3. Collaboration with Delivery Teams

Work with engineering, data, and cloud teams in South Africa to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned to technical standards.

Manage smooth handovers from sales to delivery teams.

Participate in technical reviews of architectures and proposed approaches.

4. Technical Expertise & Guidance

Maintain strong knowledge across the Microsoft ecosystem: Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, AI/ML, and modern development practices.

Advise on best practices, technology choices, and architecture patterns.

5. Sales Cycle Support

Help shape solution messaging and go-to-market materials.

Contribute to pitch decks, capability documents, and technical sales content.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Matric or NQF Level 4 required.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar is beneficial.

Experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical advisory within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Strong understanding of Azure cloud, Power Platform, modern development, and AI/ML.

Proven experience in preparing proposals, technical responses, and cost estimates.

Valid passport and driver’s licence with own transport.

Willing and able to travel locally and internationally when needed.
