Overview

Afrika Tikkun is seeking a qualified and compassionate Primary Health Care Worker to support the wellness of both staff and programme beneficiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting health screenings, coordinating wellness initiatives, managing health-related data, and fostering collaboration with external health stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Staff and Beneficiary Wellness

Conduct annual blood pressure, diabetes, and HIV screenings for employees and quarterly for programme candidates.

Carry out BMI and height screenings for staff and candidates.

Organize and deliver health awareness talks in line with the annual wellness plan.

Participate in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.

Provide first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries.

Administration

Submit weekly highlights and monthly reports to the Social Worker.

Record and forward health screening statistics to the Data Capturer after each session.

Accurately document and file incident reports, ensuring all evidence and referrals are properly captured.

Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all wellness activities and incidents.

External and Internal Collaboration

Build and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders such as government clinics, blood donation services, and health organizations.

Stay informed about effective health intervention methods and community health initiatives.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

Higher Certificate in Enrolled and/or Auxiliary Nursing.

Additional health-related qualifications will be an advantage.

Experience:

2–3 years of experience in healthcare or community care.


Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong report writing and planning abilities.

Fluency in at least two languages.

Behavioural Attributes:

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
