Overview
This role involves operating conveyors and related equipment to ensure lime bunkers are consistently filled to optimal levels.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or NQF4 / N3 in Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes.
Experience in a water purification plant is beneficial.
Process Controller Classification (DW regulations) will be an advantage.
Main Responsibilities
Select, fill, and monitor bunkers daily to prevent overfilling.
Load road tankers when required.
Operate (start/stop) the lime conveyor system.
Record bunker readings for stock control.
Ensure bunkers remain filled and check conveyor conditions.
Choose appropriate conveyors for bunker filling.
Operate dust extraction and conveyor systems.
Inspect crushers/vibrators for defects.
Ensure interlocks are cleared before starting equipment.
Inspect basement water levels to prevent flooding.
Transfer PAC products into silos and monitor levels.
Maintain cleanliness by clearing chemical spillages, blockages, and chute obstructions.
Knowledge Required
Basic knowledge of water treatment processes.
