Minimum Requirements

Applicants interested in the Rand Water Driver vacancy should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • At least 3 years of relevant driving experience
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence
  • Ability to successfully pass the Rand Water K53 driving test
  • Valid Public Drivers Permit

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The appointed Driver will be responsible for transporting employees, equipment and other required items safely and efficiently.

Transport Operations

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Transport staff and equipment to required destinations.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, safe and roadworthy.
  • Plan transport activities to ensure vehicles are available when required.
  • Complete all relevant transport schedules in the Mechanical section.
  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned motor vehicles.
  • Identify, investigate and report vehicle faults.
  • Ensure transport activities comply with applicable legal and safety requirements.

Financial Responsibilities

The successful candidate may also be required to:

  • Handle petty cash responsibly and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records where required.

Customer Service

  • Respond professionally to customer requests.
  • Provide reliable and courteous service to internal customers.
  • Maintain a customer-service-oriented approach when performing transport duties.

Knowledge Required

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
  • Road traffic rules and regulations.
