Overview:

The Recovery Officer is responsible for the firm yet respectful collection of monthly instalments and overdue accounts. The role aims to ensure timely payments, accurate allocation of funds, and the achievement of performance targets such as roll rate control and provision goals.


Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification

Experience in a call centre or customer service setting is an advantage

Familiarity with call centre systems and telephony is a plus

Up to 1 year’s experience in collections or debt recovery is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively collect instalments and overdue payments in a respectful manner

Explain payment terms and stress the importance of paying on the agreed date, including potential consequences such as interest or legal action

Handle incoming customer queries by phone or email

Resolve complaints and provide clear, helpful product and service information

Keep customer records up to date

Prioritize urgent issues and escalate where necessary

Schedule and follow up on customer interactions

Accurately document all communication in line with company procedures

Address customer objections and provide answers to their questions
