About the Company
A Western Cape–based dairy producer specialising in cheese, butter, powdered products, and agricultural commodities within the SADC region is expanding its team with an experienced Agricultural Sales Representative. The role will focus mainly on Animal Feed and related product sales.
Role Overview
This Gauteng-based position requires someone with solid experience in agricultural commodity sales, especially in working with agricultural co-ops at both branch and head office levels, as well as farmers and end-users. The role involves significant travel and relationship-building, supported by a company car, fuel card, and full set of tools.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and nurture key customer accounts and relationships.
Conduct regular visits to co-op branches, head offices, farms, and veterinary practices.
Educate end-users on product applications and benefits.
Assist with marketing activities, including trade shows and advertising opportunities.
Negotiate pricing with buying groups and direct clients.
Ensure timely order placement and proper stock rotation at customer sites.
Coordinate orders with the Johannesburg depot in line with delivery schedules.
Follow up on outstanding customer payments when necessary.
Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activities.
Build and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships.
Travel frequently across Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, and KZN.
Act as a proactive self-starter who supports company growth.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric (Grade 12) plus a relevant post-matric qualification (Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, Pomology, Microbiology, etc.).
Strong passion for agriculture, farm efficiency, and production environments (farm, packhouse, and manufacturing).
Proven agricultural sales experience with strong negotiation skills.
Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
Ability to identify customer needs and offer technical guidance.
Good understanding of local farming systems and agricultural practices.
Computer proficiency (MS Office + CRM software).
Self-driven, energetic, and target-focused.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively (company car provided).
