Qualifications
Matric or an equivalent qualification
A tertiary qualification or current studies towards one is an added advantage
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics
Experience in imports and exports is beneficial
Knowledge of customs documentation
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
Key Responsibilities
Support the Customer Sales Centre by arranging and coordinating deliveries through third-party transport providers.
Collect transport PODs and store electronic copies in a central cloud system.
Manage all Transport Management System (TMS) activities using D365.
Evaluate daily distribution needs, create an efficient distribution plan, and send it to Steinweg for routing and load planning.
Prepare daily transport tracking reports and handle all logistics documentation and communication.
Provide procurement with once-off transport cost estimates when needed.
Work with the SHEQ department to ensure transporters comply with Hazchem and ISO standards.
Source new transport companies and assist procurement in awarding transport contracts.
Coordinate BIVAC inspections and complete related administration.
Complete any other tasks related to the role.
Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers.
