About the Role
De Beers Exploration is looking for an entry-level Treatment Plant Operator to join its Indicator Mineral Laboratory team.
The role involves handling sample treatment processes safely and efficiently, supporting De Beers’ mission to deliver sustainable diamond production.
Key Responsibilities
Process samples to produce heavy (indicator) mineral concentrates while following diamond control protocols.
Record and track treatment data in LIMS and report any faults or non-conformances.
Carry out tracer tests and decontamination tasks.
Operate and maintain plant equipment, including crushing, screening, separation (magnetic, electrostatic, dense media, heavy liquid), and aliquoting.
Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, maintenance, and shutdowns in line with procedures.
Ensure compliance with ECOHS standards, safety policies, risk management, and data integrity requirements.
Participate in risk assessments, report incidents, and maintain safety/quality documentation.
Requirements
Grade 12 (Maths an advantage).
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
Machinery operation experience or license (e.g., forklift) is beneficial.
Previous lab or field exploration experience in mineral recovery is advantageous.
